Comparing Zippo to STAR®, Star has been called the Zippo knockoff. I have had both Zippo and Star, pretty much the same performance aside from the Zippo windproof. When opening up the lighters, the Zippo is wick/cotton is packed tighter, Zippo carries a taller flame, when kept lit the Zippo case remains cooler than the Star lighter. Both lighters suffer from the lighter fluid evaporating over time when not in use and Zippo costs quite a bit more.
